MYTHOLOGY TEACHING PACKETS were developed to correspond with each year’s National Mythology Exam, but they are useful whether or not the teacher gives the exam. Activities in the Teaching Packets include materials appropriate for a wide range of students (3rd through 9th grade) with differing abilities. There are retellings of myths in prose and dramatic form, hands-on activities such as puppets, songs and crafts, factual information activities, and enrichment activities which include cross-curricular projects, critical-thinking exercises, and annotated bibliographies for further research. In addition, there are sections in each packet that highlight the current year’s subtests: The Iliad, The Odyssey, The Aeneid, Native American Myths, and African Myths. A new section on Norse Myths is being added to each packet as the exams cycle.
