National Mythology Exam Packet Samples

ETC also offers packets on these themes:

Each packet also includes numerous pages of activities based on select books
of the Iliad, the Odyssey, and the Aeneid. These selections correspond to the
books to be tested on that year's National Mythology Exam. See below for
samples from the Odyssey, Iliad, and Aeneid sections of the teaching packets.

myths from the African and Native American cultures. These selections
correspond to those to be tested on that year's National Mythology Exam.
ETC has developed a number of Classics and Mythology teaching packets
suitable for elementary and middle school level students. The activities in the
packets are creative and varied in nature. In addition, they help students to
prepare for the National Mythology Exam. Each of the themes of the packets
corresponds to a theme of the Exam. In 2003, for example, the NME's theme
was "Heracles," and the Heracles packet was designed to help students in their
